Apple’s display defect handling is divided into two distinct phases:
1. Within First 14 Days (Direct Exchange)
Apple offers a 100% no-questions-asked 14-day return and exchange policy on all hardware. If you spot even 1 single dead or stuck pixel, return the device immediately to any Apple Store or online for an instant replacement.
2. After 14 Days (Genius Bar Matrix)
Under Apple’s 1-Year Limited Warranty and AppleCare+, Apple technicians evaluate displays based on screen diagonal size, subpixel type (bright vs dark), and cluster proximity under ISO 9241-307 Class II standards.
Apple Display Matrix Guidelines:
| Apple Device Category | Bright Subpixels Allowed | Dark Subpixels Allowed | Cluster Defect Limit |

| Studio Display (27" 5K) | 0 in central area (or 1–2) | Up to 5 | Cluster of 2 subpixels |
| Pro Display XDR (32" 6K) | 0 Bright Pixels | Up to 2 | Zero cluster tolerance |
