MacBook Dead Pixel Test

Run full-screen solid color tests on your MacBook Air or MacBook Pro to expose dead transistors, stuck RGB subpixels, and keyboard pressure spots.

MacBook Pixel Inspection Instructions

Retina screens have high pixel densities (220–254 PPI), making individual dead pixels appear as tiny pinprick dots. Follow these steps for an accurate check:

  • Clean the display with a dry microfiber cloth before beginning.
  • Click Start Fullscreen Test and press Control + Command + F if in Safari windowed mode.
  • Use the Spacebar to cycle through pure White, Black, Red, Green, Blue, Yellow, Cyan, and Magenta.
  • Look closely at the center, bezel edges, and bottom menu bar areas.
